Task One: First Steps
Every good pilot needs to know the basics. So, your first task is to complete the in-game tutorial that guides you from your hab to your first flight above the clouds.
To begin your adventure, launch Star Citizen and select ‘Play the Tutorial’ when prompted.
For more info, check out our detailed Beginner’s Guide.
Task Two: Visit IAE
Now you’ve got a handle on the basics, it’s time to join the IAE party!
First, head to the city of New Babbage on microTech. Then, take the metro to the Tobin Expo Center and enter the show floor. While there, why not test-fly a ship or two for free?
Task Three: Combat
The 'verse can be a dangerous place, and we recommend all pilots have some combat proficiency. One of the best ways to skill-up is bounty hunting.
Open your mobiGlas and complete the ‘Tracker Training Permit Certification’ from the Bounty Hunters Guild.
This will test your combat skills against a low-risk target and open the door to further bounty missions.
Make sure you have a combat-focused ship, and check out this video guide by Berks for tips.
Task Four: Hauling
Cargo haulers are the backbone of the UEE, keeping our cities sustained, space stations alive, and the economy moving.
Complete the ‘Opportunity for Independent Cargo Hauler’ contract in your mobiGlas. This introductory mission will prepare you for the more lucrative (and challenging) hauling contracts.
Make sure you rent a ship capable of transporting cargo, such as a Consolidated Outland Nomad or MISC Freelancer, and check out this hauling video guide by Farrister.
Task Five: Industry
While Combat and Hauling can be lucrative careers, they're underpinned by the more fundamental industries, such as Mining and Refining.
For this task, your objective is to mine and sell ore. You can do this one of two ways.
Asteroid Mining:
Asteroid mining involves prospecting for asteroids with valuable ore, fracturing them, and extracting the materials inside.
We strongly recommend reading this guide or checking out this video tutorial by Red Monster SC.
Asteroid mining requires a dedicated mining ship. Head to IAE on the respective manufacturer days to rent a MISC Prospector (recommended for newbies) or Argo MOLE.
Hand Mining:
Hand mining involves finding smaller ore deposits on planet surfaces and inside caves.
To get started, you’ll need your Multi-Tool’s mining attachment and a ship to scout for deposits.
Check out this video from BeardofOz to get started.
Check back here daily to track your progress.
This webpage will track your IAE Academy progress; tracking won't be visible in-game. As you complete tasks, you’ll receive a completion stamp below, rewarded daily.
